Collecting A level and BTEC results
Make sure you are aware of the times you can collect your results from college or sixth form on Thursday 14 August 2025.

Collecting GCSE results
Make sure you are aware of the times you can collect your results from your school on Thursday 21 August 2025, as this will be different from school to school.
If you have applied to a college or sixth form, you will need to know how you can show them your results, and you may even have another interview. If you have applied to a college within the Salford City College Group, (City Skills, FutureSkills at MediaCitUK, Eccles Sixth Form College, Pendleton Sixth Form College or Worsley College) you will have been given an appointment time to enrol. If you haven't received it or can’t remember, contact the college before you go. If you are enrolling elsewhere, make sure you know their enrolment process.
If you have an offer of an apprenticeship, is it dependent on your GCSE results? If so, you will need to send them a copy of your results, so call them and ask how you should send them.
If you do not pass your Maths or English (grade 4 or above) it is a legal requirement that you continue to study these.
Remember to take a notebook and pen, your phone (with charge) and a positive attitude.
Results day steps to follow:
- Seek advice by speaking to your school or college Careers Adviser before making any rash decisions
- See what courses are available, these are on college/sixth form websites
- If you have applied to a college or sixth form and did not get the grades needed, still go to your enrolment slot to speak to staff. They will most likely have an alternative you can do
- If you haven't already applied to college, it’s not too late. Contact the college, speak to your school careers adviser or Salford Employment Hub (0161 393 4500 or [email protected])
- Want to apply for apprenticeships? Get on the national government website and create an account, then you can make as many applications as you like
If you are not sure what you want to do, seek advice from your school/college careers adviser first.
What you need for college or sixth form enrolment:
- Your GCSEs and any other examination results
- Your passport or birth certificate, together with your National Insurance number (if you have this)
Unsure what your next steps are? Don’t panic. There are plenty of options available.
Check out college and sixth form websites to see what courses they offer and if there are opportunities that interest you, and make a note of their phone numbers. Get in touch with them as soon as you know your results.
There are other alternatives, including traineeships and employability programmes. Contact Salford Employment Hub (0161 393 4500 or [email protected]) they are there to help you with your next steps.
